TEXAS PRECINCT CONVENTIONS


Original phone comment with many many many typos from my phone corrected follows below. My keyboard is hard for me to use as my hands are larger than the keys have space for. I often use my fingers where a stylus would work better (I dare you Crank).

I've been to several of our conventions. There are very few people who ever attend. This time we had 145 just in my precinct. Usually our two precincts combine for about half a dozen people. I didn't stick around for resolutions, just the presidential caucus. 52% went Obama, 48% Clinton. Each side grabbed 13 delegates to send to the county on March 30th from 1 till 8pm (yuck).
Retrospective It was fantastic meeting all of these neighbors of mine. I signed up as an Obama delegate for the county. A dozen others did too. Equal numbers of Hillary delegates were selected. I volunteered to sign in people. In the video you may notice we count the people. 145 came to reprsent my precinct. Equal numbers of Hillary/Obama delegates were selected. I got to meet people who backed Obama and just felt all gooey with those who felt the same way. I've been to weddings. I've been to funerals. In each you connect in grief and joy with family. At a Texas Convention.... you connect with your neighbors. We need more of that shiznit.
