THE VAST CORPORATIST AGENDA WARS
Senator Obama has said he would seek to investigate officials of a former Bush administration if there was willful criminality, because "nobody is above the law."
Barack Obama's own web site quotes his position on media consolidation and social responsibility.
The thoughtful exchange of diverse viewpoints not only helps guarantee our freedom as individuals, it ensures those in power can be held accountable for all that they do.
This week Thom Heartman said he believes the media is determined to pressure a narrative that would prevent the media from holding diverse view points. Thom's views were described as tactics also used to bring down front runner and grass roots candidate Howard Dean. On Febuary 1, 2004, David Podvin wrote:
On December 1, 2003, Howard Dean was ahead by twenty points in the polls when he appeared on Hardball with Chris Matthews and said, “We're going to break up the giant media enterprises.” This pronouncement went far beyond the governor’s previous public musings about possibly re-regulating the communications industry, and amounted to a declaration of war on the corporations that administer the flow of information in the United States. It was an extraordinarily noble and dangerous thing to do: when he advocated a truly free press, Dr. Dean was provoking the corrupt media conglomerates that control what most Americans see and hear and read, and thereby control what most Americans think.
Noting the contrast between the top's down candidates style of Hillary Clinton and John McCain to the bottom's up or grass roots campaign of Barack Obama the question of media manipulation was brought up again by GottaLaff on Cliff's blog. In particular GottaLaff links media participation with George Bush's administration with this link. These questions follow the closing of the ABC Gottcha Debate where Senator Obama said "They like stirring up controversy. They like playing gotcha games... .. and I would say Sen. Clinton was in her element."
Hillary Clinton has not announced what she would do as President. She is holding out on answering whether she would insist her Attorney General review the events leading to wiretaps, US Attorney firings, torture and rendition. Is this political expediency or is it a promise of more pardons as is the family tradition?
I LOVE STRONG WOMEN
Best part, I know Jeannene enjoyed that like mango on a wedge of vanilla icecream poised on a pancake. HatTip Sir Real.

BTW. Thanks C&L. I got the news having lunch with my boss. I uttered "I'm at Crooks and Liars!" He looked up from his tortilla soup and said. "I always knew you were associated with crooks and liars" then went back to his bowl. He doesn't blog. But I do, and I know it's an honor.
