TODAY'S LETTER TO NANCY

Dear Madam Speaker,

This Saturday your local news paper quoted you as saying:

The speaker said she had "no hesitation" criticizing the president about his handling of the war, but said there were more important priorities for lawmakers -- such as health care and creating jobs -- than the divisive pursuit of impeachment.

"Look, it's hard enough for us to end the war. I don't know how we would be successful in impeaching the president," Pelosi said.

I am writing to respectfully push back on that thinking and request that you row harder.  I am urging this because the current political achievable environment should have nothing to do with what is right or wrong.  You took an oath to protect the constitution, and we are looking for you to respect that oath.  Too many believe the citizens have been wronged for hearings and investigations to not proceed.

We need to know where exactly the claims of Nigerian ore were forged and how they were presented to the CIA.

We need to know how decisions to protect the citizens of New Orleans were so mismanaged.

We need to know how our Energy Policy was developed in secret.

We need to know a great many things, and the only way to get to the truth is through your determination.  Please consider your decision again.  Consider what is gained from getting to the facts during the Impeachment hearings, rather than simply successfully Impeaching.  Please start to heal this country.  How can I help?

Sincerely,
Fernando
